General Manager (Hospitality Sector)

General Manager required to join a brand new, exciting bar venue in Hull.

As this is a new venture, you will get the opportunity to have a real influence on the management of this venue.  We want to speak to experienced hospitality, bar managers only who can demonstrate previous successes within a similar role. This is a senior position and in return for your efforts, our client is paying up to £30,000, plus bonus for the right candidate.

We are seeking a bar manager who can take full responsibility of all elements of the bar, which include the full customer experience, recruitment and management of up to 30 employees’ and to take responsibility for the profitability of the venue.

You will report directly in to the share holders of the venue and be the 1st point of contact for everything related to the smooth running of the bar.


The Role

  • Actively communicate with all nominated suppliers to ensure that the products received into the business are maintained at the highest level of quality
  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders to ensure that relationships are maintained and support supplied when required
  • Ensure that company policies and statutory obligations towards the rights of the employees are implemented at all times.
  • Ensure all staff receive regular and prompt training in compliance with the company standards and where applicable by law
  • Establish channels of communication by holding weekly meetings with managers
  • Maintain staff discipline and take appropriate action


Financial Sales and Profit

  • Maximize profitability through driving sales and controlled margins whist maintaining company standards
  • Be responsible for the implementation of marketing initiatives that build on and develop current sales levels.
  • Report checked and accurate food and wage costs on a weekly basis
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed
  • Be responsible for the management of stock, security and wastage implement initiatives to control any areas of concern
  • Minimise spends on key supplier and accounts through close management of costs



In return the company is offering the successful candidate a competitive salary of £25k to £30k per annum plus bonus. This is a full time, permanent position.
