Based in Holme on Spalding Moor, on the outskirts of York/ Goole, they are a leading designer, manufacturer and installer of bespoke manufactured stone products in the UK since 1927.

Our client is in the middle of a multimillion-pound investment in technology and systems. Due to this they require additional support for between 2- 3 months.

Job Role

In this Skilled Production Operative role you will be part of a team working within Production Department. This role would suit those who enjoy and have experience of a manufacturing environment.

For the role of Skilled Production Operative duties will include;

  • Accurately follow all maintenance procedures
  • Using hand tools to produce a flawless finish to Granite and Quartz
  • Checking the size and thickness of slabs to ensure suitability for the job
  • Checking the correct job card matches the job before starting cutting
  • Ensuring all cut pieces are labelled correctly inc Size, Product and Code
  • Keeping a safe and clean work area
  • Ensuring the job is completed in full before finishing
  • Visually inspecting the materials before and after processing to identify any defects or faults that need rectifying
  • Quality control, a keen eye for detail.

Skills & Qualification

  • Manufacturing based experience
  • Health and safety at work
  • Working with hand tools and or Machinery
  • Working to set quality standards

Full training for this will be given to the successful candidate.


Your role will initially start through Yorkshire Staffing Services on a temporary basis, however many candidates have gone on to be offered a permanent contract direct with our client. Once a permanent employee you can take full advantage of our benefits package;

Hours & Pay Rates

This job is Monday to Friday and runs on a 3 shift rotating pattern

Basic rate of £8.42 per hour and Plus Shift Allowance – if you have attended all the shifts and turned up on time, the pay rate is £10.23 – this is for the first 48 hours per week.

Any hours over 48 hours will be paid at £12.63
