Maintenance Engineer – Howden

Our Clients is the national news agency for the UK and Ireland and a leading multimedia content provider. We are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer on them behalf to busy team working out of Howden office.

Role

As a Maintenance Engineer you will be reporting to the local site supervisor, you will be responsible for providing repairs, maintenance and other services required to be provided by the Property Department contributing to the efficient operation of office in Howden.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Engineer – Key responsibilities will include building maintenance and repairs including but not limited to:

  • Mechanical repairs
  • Minor plumbing works
  • Fabric repairs to walls and floors
  • Painting
  • Handyman tasks including item installation
  • Ensuring all Service Records are maintained with accurate documentation received and filed as required.
  • Ensuring the correct provisioning of First Aid stations located throughout the site.
  • Carrying out Fire Safety requirements including weekly tests and fire route checks
  • Assisting in Health and Safety duties on site as required.
  • Grounds cleaning/litter collection.

Requirements

The successful Maintenance Engineer candidate will have the following attributes:

  • To be competent in the use of hand and power tools
  • Understanding of Health and Safety Regulations at work and willing to apply them
  • Ability to adapt quickly and positively to changes/new procedures
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Be approachable with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Good IT skills (MS Office)
  • Previous experience in commercial office property support
  • An understanding of electrical backup systems would be advantageous.
  • First aid qualification ( it is an advantage )
  • A willingness to develop: Training will be provided to achieve IOSH accreditation for working/managing safely along with further development in buildings systems support.

Hours

Working hours Monday to Friday (office hours)

Package

£20,000 Salary

20 day’s holiday’s + 8 bank holidays
